Yamanote 3D - 山手線
One loop. Thirty stations. No objective.
A contemplative browser ride on Tokyo's Yamanote Line: you are a passenger on a JR East E235 series train, going round the thirty-station loop in near real time - about sixty-seven minutes a lap. Nothing to win, nothing to score. Walk the carriage, sit down, watch the city drift past, listen to the announcements and the departure melodies.
On board
- Walk the carriage in first person, sit down on a seat, or hold a strap.
- Step off through an open door and stay on the platform: the train leaves without you, and the next one comes about two minutes later.
- Hear announcements and 発車メロディ departure melodies in Japanese and English for all thirty stations and both directions - 内回り and 外回り.
- Pick the date and time before boarding: the season colours the trees, the sun follows the hour, and the weather changes the journey.
- Talk to fellow passengers. The interface is available in English, French, and Japanese.
